DIRECTORATE OF PUBLIC PROSECUTION

        The Directorate of Public Prosecutions, Orissa, Bhubaneswar has undertaken the task of monitoring and presentation of prosecution in the criminal courts of the State to improve the rate of conviction. The Orissa State Prosecution Service Rules, 1997 were framed and notified in 1997. Since then the 17 Public Prosecutors, 12 Addl. Public Prosecutors and 19 Asst. Public Prosecutors have been recruited and appointed by the Government. The table below shows the rate of conviction in cases conducted by the cadre Persecutors appointed as above.
