CRIME SITUATION

There were 65,552 cognizable cases reported in the year 2006, as against 65,029 cases in 2005 and 62,514 cases in 2004.  The crime thus increased marginally. Of the above, 65,552 cases, the 9,244 are under the Excise laws.
