CONDUCT OF BYE-ELECTION:

        The bye-election to the 136-Talsara Assembly Constituency was held peacefully. In the bye-election, the Electronic Voting Machines were used in all the 166 polling stations.

  SPECIAL SUMMARY REVISION OF ELECTORAL ROLLS:

Pursuant to the directions of Election Commission of India, the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, with reference to 01.01.2007 as the qualifying date was taken up in the State.  The Draft Roll was published on 08.12.2006.  After disposal of claims and objections received, the Electoral Roll was finally published on 08.02.2007.
