1 FAST TRACK COURTS
For continuance of the Fast Track Courts, Government of India have sanctioned a sum of Rs.1,96,80,000/- during the year 2006-07.
2 SPECIAL ENERGY COURTS
Keeping in view the increasing demand on electricity and to check unlawful wastage of energy en route, Government have notified the courts of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Balasore, First Additional Distrcit and Sessions Judge, Berhampur, Additional District Judge-cum-Additional Special Judge(Vigilance), Bhubaneswar, First Additional District and Sessions Judge, Cuttack and Additional District and Sessions Judge, Sambalpur as Special Energy Courts. These 5(Five) Special Energy Courts have been vested with the powers to try offences like energy theft, meter tampering and damage to electricity supply and apparatus connected with electricity supply etc under Electricity Act, 2003 in addition to their usual assignment.
3 CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS
In order to cope with the space problem in Orissa High Court, State Government have decided to construct a multi-storeyed building on the premises of Orissa High Court at the cost of Rs.35.00 crores. Keeping in view the financial profile of the State, the project has been decided to be undertaken with 50:50 share of both State Government and Union Government.
As the roads leading to High Court complex is getting clumsier day by day because of the growing traffic problem, an approach road from the Ring Road side has been decided to be undertaken at the cost of Rs.85,85,000/-. In the first phase a sum of Rs.55,00,000/- has been sanctioned to go ahead with the construction. Besides, for completion of the Court building at Khariar, a sum of Rs.57,14,000/- has been sanctioned in the first phase.
Similarly, for the residential accommodation, a residential complex for the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, a project at the cost of Rs.1,93,00,000/- has been administratively approved by the State Government and a sum of Rs.50,00,000/-has been sanctioned in the first phase to go ahead with the construction. In addition, five residential quarters have been decided to be constructed for five Judicial Magistrates in the Sub-ordinate Judiciary at the cost of Rs.80,00,000/-. The projects have been administratively approved by the State Government and the entire sum estimated to be expended has been sanctioned.
